Many businesses are created by people that are skilled in what they do. Many people that run businesses have worked their way up, becoming more and more expert in their specialist area. Unfortunately, being good at what you do and having a great product is no longer enough in today’s financial climate.
It’s not uncommon for me to work with business people that have never had any formal business, marketing or management training. If that’s you, then you can take comfort that … YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
The roadmap that I employ is not only a proven strategic planning model that will set your business on a path to greater success, but also provides a framework for coaching business people. By examining the framework in detail you’ll change how you think about your business – take a look at Nikki’s quote and how she feel she’s been taught “… skills that I will use forever.”
As the saying goes:
Give the man a fish and you feed him for a day. Give him a rod and teach him to fish and you feed him for life.
I’m not prescriptive about how I want to do business and how we must work together. Businesses engage me in whatever way suits their circumstances.
As part of a business strategy review or separately I am often involved in the coaching of business owners, leaders and senior managers. This role is about bringing the business planning framework into the real world and showing its importance within the context of their business. Sometimes people need walking through the process in a detailed way, sometimes people just need to meet a small number of times for a couple of hours.
In addition, I can provide support and coaching in relation to team performance, sales development, managing a team and effective delegation as well as looking in more detail at the role of marketing (especially in relation to a sales team) and all elements of the marketing mix.
From time to time I suggest related associates to handle specific personal development related opportunities.
My business coaching and the sharing of knowledge often becomes just part of the business planning journey. However, if you’d like to find out more about how business coaching might benefit you call me on 01757 249442 or email hello@askmjs.co.uk
